Bishop Dave Wiebe of Swift Current told Francis of a Mennonite settlement that existed south of Val Jean in the twenties. Mr. Bernard Sadowski a local farmer took Francis to the cemetery. Four disc blades mark the four corners of the cemetery. The land surrounding has all returned to ranchland with no actual roads.

A stone memorial with a brass plague was recently placed there by Mr. Richard Marceau of Albert Park, Alberta in memory of his grandfather, Paul Neufeld. There were also two graves with concrete frames to mark other graves. There were numerous cedar posts lying around which was probably part of the original fence. Mr. Sadowski said there had been a big wooden cross in the middle of the cemetery and has now disappeared.
